Delhi: The recent few months have been disappointing for the Indian cricket team. The 3-1 defeat against Australia in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy and before that the 3-0 clean sweep in the home series against New Zealand was no less than a big shock for the Indian players. Meanwhile, former India batsman Yuvraj Singh has supported Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma despite their poor performance. He even called Team India his ‘family’.

While talking to news agency PTI, Yuvraj praised the achievements of Team India and said that he has never seen any team winning two consecutive series in Australia. He called it a historic success for India. Yuvraj said, “Nowadays people are criticizing Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma a lot. But, they forget what great achievements these players have achieved in history. Both of them are one of the greatest cricketers of current times. Defeat is a part of the game, and it must be hurting him the most. I am confident that Team India will make a great comeback.”

When Yuvraj was asked about the changes in the team, he said, “I do not consider myself an expert. I have always been a student of cricket. Virat, Rohit and Gautam Gambhir have played more cricket than me. My opinion is that when a player does not perform well, it is very easy to criticize him, but difficult to support him.”

Yuvraj also said that it is the job of the media to target the players for their poor performance, but his job is to support his friends and brothers. He clearly said that Rohit, Virat and other players of Team India are like family to him.
